My Bride and I walked up to the heavily overgrown area only to
encounter deep growling in the bushes in front of us. We backed out
very quickly and two scraggly abandoned dogs limped out. Seeing they
were starving, we emptied out everything edible for them, plus water.
We called every possible animal control agency, but seeing it is out in
Liberty County, no one will take responsibility for the poor animals, so
I called the Cache Owner, MarineBuck. He assured me he would rescue
the dogs if there is any possible way. My Bride cried most of the way
home over these poor animals. People need to realize turning a
domesticated animal loose in the country dooms them to starvation. This
was off of 1960 on FM615 between Dayton and Huffman.
Update: This
is terrible. She has a gash so deep that I can see her skull. The other
one wouldn't come anywhere near me. I've been here an hour...but she
wouldn't have let me grab her. I left them a temporary shelter, a huge
bowl of food and water. Can someone check on them tomorrow for me? I'll
be at church and won't be able to. Tracey Mullins
Update: A man has rescued these dogs and taken them in for treatment!!!

I'll go check to see if they're still there when I leave work today. I'll try to grab them, if they won't let me, then I'll leave them temp shelter, water and food. They look young. TM
When will people start realizing that people are the problem? We over breed them, then dump them to starve when they are "too big." "not cute anymore," "not manageable," or just inconvenient. I see far to many people dump dogs and cats out on FM 1409. Almost makes me you want to take them and dump them somewhere where they have to fight for food and decent water. Hey, let's take them to the Middle East and dump them out! KW

Those dogs are very skinny. I hope someone can rescue them. It's so sad when people dump animals. They're starving to death, will have heart worms, and are forced to live a horrible existence. I really wish there were mandatory spay/neuter laws. I heard that in Harris County you have to have a permit if you have a dog now. Not sure about that since I live in Chambers County. TF
That's terrible, people who do that to animals should be shot if you ask me! Thanks Bert for trying to help save those poor creatures. C
